PRO HDR vs Camera+ for Extremes Sunny Moments

Reading this very long and interesting article by Andrew Schär, I’ve decided to buy Pro HDR and add it to my arsenal of apps, just in case.
I generally use camera+ but I want to show you, with a series of pics, the difference I found in this situation yesterday.
As you can see, in the position where I wanted to take the picture, I had all the dark area around me. I tried to change the exposure on Camera+ but that’s the best I could get, or it was too underexposed or too overexposed.

So I said, hey, why not trying Pro HDR?
The app, in auto-mode, practically takes two pictures, one overexposed and the other underexposed. You have the possibility to save all of them. Then it merges together the result very well. You can see in the first picture, that’s not so different with the one taken with camera+.

When the app gives you the result, you have also the possibility to change a few things, like brightness, contrast, saturation, warmth, tint and even apply some filter. I didn’t apply any filter and I changed just a little bit contrast and warmth. But really, almost nothing. And this is the result I got.

So, if I had thought that Pro HDR could be good for landscapes, now I think it could be a very good solution when we have some extreme dark situation to manage. Very nice! What do you think?

ProHDR is my favorite camera app. Its definitely the best HDR option in my opinion.
Thank you for your comment. It is a very good app indeed.
Pro HDR is my default shooting app. The only cons it has itìs that it is quite slow, so I use 6×6 for fast shots.
yes, it’s true, it’s a bit slow but it’s good in what it does and it’s quite able to catch the right pics even when I’m not in a too stable position. I tried HDR fusion few days ago and I don’t like it comparing to Pro HDR. Never used 6×6 btw, so I don’t know what it does, unfortunately.
ProHDR is one app I actually don’t have. This post made me think I should consider it.
Thank you Paul, if you get it, I’d appreciate if you let us know what you think.
