iPhoneography App. PhotoSync my new best friend

I used to keep my photos on the camera roll and post-process them directly from there but as soon as my pictures increased too much I changed method of organization. I’ve unfortunately realized that the photostream, events and albums synchronized via iTunes are practically useless. Why? Because probably you know it already, iTunes downsize all the pics to 2048×1536, and the photostream does the same. Here comes PhotoSync.

Last Sunday I went to a Carnival and in a couple of hours I took 518 pics and 19 short videos, using all the 4.5GB I had free on my iPhone. So I also realized I did a big mistake buying only the 16GB but as the albums are pretty useless for me now, I decided to not synchronize any of them anymore and free all that space for my next mix of pics and videos.

PhotoSync is just great. You download the desktop version for free, and buy the app version that works for both iPhone and iPad. Then you can easily transfer your pics from your devices at full resolution, it’s easy and fast. And then you can decide to synchronize them with your desktop or iPhoto and Aperture library. So I chose to sync with iPhoto and it works just perfectly, nothing to say.

So now, both my iPad and iPhone are always completely photo empties, and I use to transfer on the camera roll only the pics I want to process and then I transfer and organize them back. Clean!

Well, I hope you liked some test I’m doing with some of the photos I’m selecting. The sun was very bad for the iPhone so I had to find some strategy to try to get the most from it. It’s been funny because at one moment I was close to what it seemed to be the Canon club, made by all the photographers that usually have a shop in the area and then take and sell some official pic. All of them had a Canon, and smiling I showed them my iPhone, and they ironically smiled back! The funny thing is that they looked quite bored, shooting just sometimes, and I seemed to be the only one happily shooting everywhere, engaging with the people and try to make something nice out of it. I feel they will be surprised! ;)
[update] The new iPhoto iOS app could change this now. I need to check this app better in the next days.
